On behalf of our client, one of the fastest growing fintech start-ups, bringing innovation and transparency to the financial sector, we are currently looking for a Back-end Developer with analytical thinking and problem solving skills, to join its team of professionals.

A day in the life of a 'Back-end Developer’

You will be working with a supportive team who are ready to hear your thoughts, brainstorm when you want fresh ideas, and work with you when you need to delegate. With your expertise, you will design and develop reliable server-side apps and databases. By testing and debugging them, you make sure that issues are found and addressed in time. The stack consists of Python, Postgres, ElasticSearch and Redis. Using Heroku to manage deployments and Docker to ensure consistency and productivity for the developers. 

Your day-to-day

• Develop, test, and support production software
• Apply your experience and knowledge to solve both common and complex issues
• Collaborate with the rest of the team to achieve your daily or long-term goals
• Communicate with non-tech colleagues to support their requests and explain the product in their language
• Keep yourself updated about new technologies that could help you, the team, or our product
• Be analytical and good at time management

What you will need

• At least 1 year of working experience as a Software Engineer
• Solid understanding of web architecture (HTTP, APIs, REST etc)
• Experience with Python and PostgreSQL is a must
• Experience in Redis, Git, Docker, and familiarity with microservices and scalable systems
• Experience with JavaScript in a huge plus
• Great database architecture skills
• Collaborative attitude
• Keen to learn new skills and gain experience with technologies at a rapid pace
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Fluent in English (Greek an add-on)
