Java Developer/Team Leader

On behalf of our client, a leading technology company in online bookings and electronic services of ticket reservation systems and services in tourism, travel, and culture industries, we are looking for a self-driven Java Team Leader to join and lead their dynamic team based in Athens.

A day in the life of a ‘Java Team Leader’

You are an inspired professional that will be part of a highly skilled team who design, develop, deploy, and support complex Information Systems. You will have the opportunity to manage the back-end development team and contribute in achieving the company’s goals.

Your day-to-day

• You inspire, collaborate and mentor and help with your team's career growth
• Together with team members you assure achieving the company’s goals
• You’re responsible for enabling the delivery team to deliver with high quality on time
• Design, develop and maintain JEE applications
• Prioritize, assign and execute tasks throughout the software development life cycle
• Schedule product releases with internal teams
• Ensure applications are secure and up-to-date
• Provide workforce planning & participate in recruitment 

What you will need

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or any relevant field
• At least 6 years of experience in designing, building and testing large scale software systems
• Strong experience in developing Java EE applications
• Experience in GDS systems, reservations systems, ferries line of business or similar will be considered as a huge plus
• In-depth knowledge of Spring, Maven and/or Hibernate
• Excellent RDBMS skills (design, implementation, migration) working with large amounts of data in production systems
• Experience on Git and source control process
• Knowledge of REST API and SOAP technology
• Familiar with various operating systems
• Ability to analyze and resolve technical and application problems
• English speaker and writer
