Senior Java Developer

On behalf of our client, a US based leading technology company that provides full end-to-end solutions for fish farming and aquatic species research – including innovative platforms and products that deliver unrivaled data, information and insights, we are looking a self-driven Senior Java Developer to join its team of product development in Greece.

A day in the life of a ‘Senior Java Developer’

You are an inspired professional that will be part of a highly skilled team responsible for the development of the company’s application based on microservices architecture. You act as a member of the Agile Development Team by using the latest versions of Java to build, deploy and manage services on AWS. Also, the stack include technologies such as Spring Boot, Angular, Ionic, Ruby, Kotlin, Redis etc.

Your day-to-day

• Build advanced back end microservices and develop software programs
• Optimize applications performance and recommend software upgrades for existing systems
• Contribute in all phases of the development life-cycle, prepare and produce releases of software components
• Monitor and improve application reliability and present innovative ideas for system improvements
• Produce detailed specifications and implement the program codes accordingly
• Follow test driven development through continuous integration and agile methodologies 

What you will need

• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, however experience and skillset will be considered
• At least 6 years of experience in designing, building and testing large scale software systems with Java
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot framework
• Familiarity with microservices
• Experience working with version control systems
• Familiarity working as a member of an Agile team
• Ability to mentor other members on the development team and making key decisions about technical matters
