About the role

On behalf of our client, an innovative Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) company with HQs in Thessaloniki, offices in Athens, London, Seattle and with clients all around the globe, we are currently looking for a talented System Administrator to join its highly-aspirated team in Thessaloniki.

Role Summary

The ideal candidate will work on a high variety and scale system design and troubleshooting and integration of 3rd party services using a scale-ready model. In depth understanding of system’s administration internals and networking that are running in a virtualized environment is highly crucial for this role.
Key Accountabilities

  • Systems Administration of Windows, Linux and Unix based Operating System
  • Co-ordinate with Systems Engineers to solve problems relating to mission critical services and build and document solutions to prevent problem recurrence
  • Propose, contribute and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems
  • Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting and system tuning
  • Manage, administer test & configure 3rd party Cloud Solutions 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • BS degree in Computer Science or any relevant field
  • Minimum three (3+) years experience in System Administration(Windows or Linux environment) 
  • Experience with virtualization technologies ( exposure to Hyper-V Clusters will be a plus)
  • Basic understanding of network theory e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, VoiP etc., MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing
  • Basic Understanding or related experience with cloud technology stack e.g. Software-Defined Data Center, Software-Defined Networking and Software-Defined Storage

Strong Pluses

  • Understanding of relational database systems (RDBMS) with experience in database administration, monitoring and troubleshooting of database related issues, especially with MS SQL Server and MySQL
  • Experience in one or more of: Python or scripting experience in Shell or PowerShell
  • Experience with VMware ESXI Clusters
  • Experience with VoIP Technologies running on the Cloud
  • Solid understand of configuration management technologies such as ansible and dsc
  • Experience with Grafana, Sensu, InfluxDB
