Data Engineer

On behalf of our client, a software house leader in Internet Services and Solutions with a large clientele in the private and public sector, we are currently looking for a talented Data Engineer, to join its highly-skilled team of professionals in Athens.

A day in the life of a Data Engineer

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines and robust data solutions to support our client's operations and analytics needs. We are seeking a Data Engineer with a solid understanding of SQL Server Development. The ideal candidate should be proficient in T-SQL scripting, ETL processes, and have hands-on experience with data migration projects. 

Your day-to-day

• Craft efficient and accurate SQL Server scripts and processes to facilitate seamless data transfer
• Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) as part of our data orchestration
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment between data engineering and organizational goals
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and SSIS packages
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data migration processes, including data mappings and transformation rules
• Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the migration process by performing validation and reconciliation activities

What you will need

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2-3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
• Good understanding of SQL Server, including stored procedures, indexes, job management, execution plans, tables, databases, and keys
• Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Understanding of data modeling and database design principles
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Competencies

• Exposure to SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI
• Understanding of DAX measures for data analysis
