Database Administrator (DBA) - Athens, On-site

Our client is a global telecommunications company running large-scale database infrastructure that underpins mission-critical operations across the business. The role exists to ensure the reliability, security and performance of their data environment as complexity and demand continue to grow.

The Role

You will manage and maintain the company's databases from installation and configuration through to performance monitoring, backup and recovery, working closely with development teams to keep queries sharp and systems running without interruption. In your first six months, you will get a thorough understanding of the existing database landscape, address the most pressing performance and security gaps and put a proactive maintenance rhythm in place. You will be the person the business depends on when data availability is non-negotiable.

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of database administration experience in a large-scale or enterprise environment
• Solid hands-on experience with database installation, configuration and performance tuning
• Strong knowledge of backup procedures, data recovery and disaster recovery planning
• Experience collaborating with development teams to optimise queries and support application performance
• Sharp understanding of data security principles and integrity management

Nice to Have

• Experience in telecommunications or other high-availability environments
• Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL
• Background in database automation and scripting
