On behalf of our client, a leading company in the field of smart infrastructure and sustainable technology solutions, we are seeking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Electrical/Electronics Lighting Engineer. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and integration of advanced lighting systems, with a focus on energy efficiency, smart city applications, and IoT connectivity. The Electrical/Electronics Lighting Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of smart and energy-efficient lighting systems. This includes working with LED technologies, lighting control systems, IoT integrations, and ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards. The role is both technical and cross-functional, involving collaboration with R&D, sales, and installation teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Design & Development

 

  • Conduct photometric studies for indoor and outdoor lighting applications (e.g., roads, public spaces, buildings).
  • Select appropriate lighting components: LEDs, drivers, sensors, ballasts, housings.
  • Design and integrate lighting systems with smart technologies (e.g., motion sensors, daylight harvesting, timers).

 

Smart Lighting & IoT Integration

 

  • Implement and maintain smart lighting systems (e.g., wireless controls, mesh networks).
  • Collaborate with software and firmware teams for IoT system integration (e.g., cloud-connected lighting platforms).

Standards & Compliance

 

  • Ensure compliance with international and local standards (e.g., CE, IEC, RoHS, EMC, IP ratings).
  • Participate in the product certification process and perform risk assessments.

 

Supplier & Product Management

 

  • Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to define technical specifications.
  • Evaluate and test components and lighting products.

 

 Sales Support & Technical Documentation

 

  • Prepare technical proposals, datasheets, and support documentation.
  • Collaborate with sales/pre-sales teams for client-specific projects.

 

Project Supervision & Field Work

 

  • Supervise on-site installations and ensure proper implementation.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks post-installation.

 

 Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

 

  • Analyze system failures, suggest design improvements, and manage warranty claims.
  • Contribute to product upgrades and long-term support planning.

 

Innovation & R&D

 

  • Stay updated on lighting and IoT trends, emerging technologies, and materials.
  • Provide input for new product development or enhancements.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in lighting design, smart lighting systems, or related field.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of LED technologies, drivers, sensors
  • Experience with lighting design software (e.g., Dialux, Relux)
  • Understanding of PCB design and electronics (if involved in R&D)
  • Familiar with IoT communication protocols (e.g., Zigbee, LoRa, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
  • Familiarity with power supplies, EMC, surge protection, thermal management
  • Software Tools AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, Altium (or similar), MS Office, cloud platforms

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Field experience in lighting installation or commissioning.
  • Knowledge of energy management and smart city solutions.
  • Certifications related to lighting design or energy efficiency.
