Head of Development (PHP/Magento)

On behalf of our client, an innovative and successful 360ᵒ advertising services agency, we are currently looking for a self-driven Head of Development, to join its dynamic team.

A day in the life of a Head of Development

As Head of Development you will be responsible for the strategic planning, technical leadership and management of the software development team. You must be driven, hard-working and passionate to lead the team towards delivering high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.

Your day-to-day

• Lead, mentor, and manage the development team, with expertise in PHP, Magento & WordPress
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines
• Conduct code reviews, assess technical feasibility, and provide architectural guidance for complex projects
• Participate in code development, when needed
• Communicate with Project Managers regarding the development team’s action plan
• Communicate with customers and partners only if they need any specialized development knowledge
• Work on the implementation of new processes & procedures in regards to the software development team
• Monitor industry trends, suggesting new ideas, strategies and tools

What you will need

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of extensive experience with PHP, Magento, WordPress
• Experience with Laravel framework is nice-to-have
• Exceptional knowledge of object-oriented design and related concepts
• Basic knowledge of IT system admin skills
• Ability to effectively lead and manage a team
