Our client, one of the largest organizations in Greece with a strong industrial and infrastructure footprint, is seeking an HSE Strategic Advisor to join its team based in Athens.

The Role
This is a full-time, senior advisory position reporting directly to Top Management. The successful candidate will act as a strategic link between senior leadership and the Health & Safety Department, contributing to the design, evaluation and continuous improvement of the organization's HSE strategy. The scope covers both the operation of existing facilities and construction, maintenance and upgrade projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice to Management on Health & Safety matters
  • Work closely with the QHSE Department to develop and implement best practices
  • Assess current processes, organizational structure and Health & Safety management systems
  • Identify organizational and operational gaps and propose improvement plans
  • Provide specialized technical guidance on complex issues related to facilities and technical projects
  • Support Management in crisis management and serious incident response
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk assessment methodology (Risk Matrix)
  • Analyze Health & Safety data and develop a KPI framework to monitor performance
  • Establish incident and accident investigation procedures aligned with international practices (Root Cause Analysis or equivalent methodologies)
  • Participate in the design and evaluation of digital HSSEQ solutions for data and indicator management
  • Align Health & Safety initiatives with the organization's sustainability and ESG goals
  • Design and deliver training and awareness programs for staff and management
  • Conduct regular site visits to facilities and construction sites to assess HSE compliance

What You'll Bring

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Industrial Management or related field)
  • 10+ years of experience in Health & Safety within demanding industrial or technical environments
  • Proven experience in construction and facility operation projects
  • Experience in strategic planning and development of HSE management systems
  • Strong knowledge of international Health & Safety standards and best practices
  • Experience in risk management, incident investigation and KPI development
  • Familiarity with digital HSE management systems and data utilization
  • Excellent command of English
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • Willingness to travel frequently to facilities and construction sites

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in HSE, Engineering Management or a related field
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH Diploma/IGC or equivalent international certifications
  • Experience in high-risk organizations or large industrial groups
  • Knowledge of ESG topics and Sustainability Reporting
