IT ManagerOur client is a well-established Greek company operating in the environmental services and waste-management sector, with a track record spanning more than two decades. The company specializes in the treatment, recovery, recycling, and safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste, playing a key role in helping Greek industry operate more sustainably and in line with environmental regulations.
With a strong operational base and a reputation as one of the more established players in its field, the company combines deep technical expertise with a hands-on approach to solving complex environmental challenges. As the business continues to invest in its digital infrastructure and systems, they are looking for an IT Manager to join their Aspropirgos-based team on-site.
The Role
As IT Manager, you will take full ownership of the company's IT infrastructure, digital systems, information security, and compliance. You will be the go-to person for all technology matters, ensuring systems run smoothly, company data is protected, and IT vendors and budgets are managed effectively.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role reporting directly to the Managing Director / CEO, with the opportunity to shape the company's IT and cybersecurity practices as it continues to grow. You may also supervise one to two junior or support staff, as well as coordinate with external partners.
You will work across infrastructure, applications, security, and compliance, playing an active part in the company's digital transformation and helping ensure the business remains resilient, secure, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, network, firewalls, endpoints, Microsoft 365, and company devices
- Provide day-to-day technical support, resolving incidents and managing user accounts, access rights, and equipment lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding)
- Administer and support the ERP and core business applications, coordinating with vendors on fixes, upgrades, and enhancements
- Maintain security controls such as antivirus/EDR, MFA, backups, and patching, and monitor for and respond to security incidents
- Ensure IT practices align with GDPR, support external audits and security questionnaires, and maintain IT/security policies and documentation
- Oversee backup and business continuity processes, maintaining a disaster recovery plan for critical systems
- Manage IT vendor contracts, renewals, and support agreements, while proposing and tracking the annual IT budget
- Identify opportunities to automate and digitalize manual processes, driving the company's broader digital transformation
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in IT, with hands-on infrastructure and security work
- At least 3 years in managerial/team leading role
- Practical knowledge of networks, Microsoft 365, endpoint security, and backups
- Experience supporting ERP or other core business applications
- Working knowledge of GDPR and information security best practices
- Strong communication and managerial skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in the industrial, manufacturing, or environmental services sector
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other information security frameworks
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft certifications)
- Experience managing external IT vendors and contracts, and digital transformation projects
What's in It for You
