Junior Backend Developer - Athens, On-site

Our client is a core-banking software vendor with over 20 years in the market, serving Greek cooperative banks and credit unions. The role exists to develop fresh engineering talent as the team expands its cloud-migration programme and needs junior developers who are ready to grow fast in a structured environment.

The Role

You will work alongside senior engineers delivering new modules for loan origination and account management features. Within your first six months you will independently own and ship two well-scoped API endpoints, write integration tests and present your work at the team's bi-weekly demos. You will receive structured mentoring from a senior engineer who is invested in your development from day one.

What You'll Bring

• 0-2 years of experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of REST API design principles
• Basic knowledge of SQL and JPA/Hibernate
• Familiarity with Git and pull-request workflows
• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Academic or personal projects involving microservices architecture
• Exposure to Docker or containerisation concepts
• Greek language fluency
