About the Company

On behalf of our client, a well-established Greek company with over 50 years of market presence, operating in the fields of electrical equipment, lighting, and energy systems is looking for a Tech Lead to work from the ground up a brand new software application. The company holds a top-tier position in the Greek market and has strong export activity.

In recent years, the organization has invested heavily in energy technologies, developing its own ecosystem of products such as heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, and energy control solutions. As part of this strategy, the company is building a proprietary Energy Management & Optimization Platform, aiming to intelligently orchestrate energy production and consumption for both enterprise and residential use. This is not a smart home solution, but a true Energy Management System (EMS) with clear technical direction and commercial scope.

The initiative is well beyond the idea stage. The company already has:

• a mature technical concept and system architecture,
• documented domain and technical know-how,
• a working proof of concept,
• a defined product and go-to-market plan,
• legal preparation for patent protection.

The Role

We are looking for a Lead Developer / Technical Leader to take ownership of the technical implementation and evolution of the EMS platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining:

• end-to-end software and system architecture,
• collaboration with product and business stakeholders,
• technical decision-making across multiple layers (cloud, data, devices, algorithms).

You will not be starting from scratch. Instead, you will transform existing know-how into a scalable, production-ready product, while gradually building and leading a small development team (3–4 engineers).

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and system design of the EMS platform
• Define and execute the development roadmap
• Translate energy and business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Work closely with product management and domain experts
• Make architectural and technology decisions with long-term scalability in mind
• Build, mentor, and lead a small in-house development team

• Strong experience in software architecture and system design
• Proven background in from-scratch product development (not only project delivery)
• Ability to work across engineering, product, and business domains
• Experience with multi-layer systems (cloud, devices, data, optimization logic)
• Ownership mindset and interest in long-term product development
• Pragmatic, collaborative senior profile (not a “guru”)
