Our client is a technology company specialising in cybersecurity, performance engineering and technology solutions for some of the world’s most demanding organisations. For more than a decade our client has secured and stress-tested products across industries including global entertainment, financial services and healthcare.

Load testing is one of the company’s core areas of expertise, supporting studios and technology teams ahead of major launches, releases and high-traffic events. The company helps customers simulate real-world demand, identify performance bottlenecks and ensure their systems can remain reliable when exposed to significant numbers of concurrent users.

As the company continues to grow, we are looking for a Load Test Engineer to join the team and work across performance engineering, software development, systems analysis and technical customer delivery.

The Role

As a Load Test Engineer, you will design and execute load tests that accurately model real-world user behaviour and help customers understand how their systems perform under significant load.

You will work primarily with Python to develop test scenarios against a range of protocols and technologies, while also contributing to the maintenance and evolution of Cyrex’s internal load-testing platform. The platform includes a Go backend, React frontends and AWS infrastructure capable of generating significant levels of load.

A key part of the role will be working directly with customers and their engineering teams. You will collaborate with them to define testing objectives, build and execute scenarios, analyse results, identify bottlenecks and make practical engineering recommendations.

As you develop within the role, you will have the opportunity to lead technical sessions and increasingly take ownership of larger and more complex performance engineering engagements.

This is a broad engineering role sitting at the intersection of software engineering, performance engineering, systems analysis and technical delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement realistic load-testing scenarios using Python, execute performance, load and stress tests, and troubleshoot test data, account pools, protocol clients and testing environments
  • Analyse metrics, traces, logs and application behaviour to identify bottlenecks, investigate high-concurrency issues, determine root causes and provide sound engineering recommendations based on test results
  • Work closely with customer engineering teams to define testing objectives, participate in technical sessions, and present performance findings and results to technical stakeholders
  • Maintain and improve Cyrex’s internal load-testing platform, contributing to bug fixes, dependency upgrades, infrastructure improvements and better performance-engineering practices
  • Work across Go, TypeScript, React, Terraform and AWS when required to support testing and internal platform development

What You’ll Bring

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful ownership of what you have delivered
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, which will be the core development language for the role
  • Hands-on cloud experience, ideally with AWS
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and containers
  • Practical understanding of distributed systems and their failure modes, including timeouts, back-pressure, connection limits and resource contention
  • Enough technical breadth to work with typed backends and React frontends even if they are not your primary specialisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with customers and communicate complex performance findings clearly
  • Excellent spoken and written English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with performance or load-testing tools such as Locust, k6, JMeter or Gatling
  • Experience building or extending load-testing tooling
  • Experience with Go
  • Experience with React and TypeScript
  • Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies
  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with HTTP, WebSockets, gRPC and protobuf
  • Experience working with bespoke or binary protocols
  • Experience with games, real-time systems or high-traffic consumer platforms
  • Previous experience working directly with customers or technical stakeholders

What’s in it for You

€3,800 – 4500 Gross / Month, on a B2B basis, with a flexible hybrid working model. You’ll have the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-driven autonomous cybersecurity, contributing to the development of an innovative penetration testing platform while collaborating with experienced AI, software engineering and cybersecurity professionals.

The role offers exposure to a diverse range of international gaming and technology projects, within a fast-paced, multicultural and innovative environment, together with ongoing training and professional self-improvement opportunities.
