Power BI Developer

On behalf of our client, a leading organization in the retail sector, we are seeking a highly skilled and business-focused Power BI Developer to join their growing Data & Analytics team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful data projects that support strategic decision-making across the group.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining insightful Power BI dashboards, working with stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
• Translate business requirements into data models, KPIs, and visualizations
• Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
• Create advanced DAX measures and calculated columns
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reports
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to enhance reporting capabilities
• Maintain clear documentation of data flows, report logic, and data models

Must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field
• 2+ years’ experience in Power BI development
• Strong SQL skills for querying and data manipulation
• Advanced knowledge of DAX
• Experience with Power BI Service (publishing, sharing, scheduled refreshes)
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and proactive mindset

Nice to Have

• Experience with Power Query (M language)
• Familiarity with Azure Data Sources (Azure SQL DB, Synapse, Data Lake)
• Understanding of data warehouse and dimensional modeling
• Experience with the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
