Principal Cloud Security Engineer

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Security, you will serve as the hands-on technical lead for cloud security across the group's Microsoft footprint. This strategic addition will take direct ownership of cloud technical execution, providing the capacity needed for security leadership to drive broad organizational strategy and risk management.

The position is designed for someone who bridges high-level security design with practical engineering delivery. You will set technical standards, lead security efforts across the ongoing on-premises to Azure migration, and sit alongside systems administrators to handle direct implementation tasks. You will work alongside internal SOC and GRC colleagues in Athens within a collegial and non-bureaucratic atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the core hands-on technical authority across Azure Security, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, and Sentinel
• Lead the security architecture and hands-on execution for the active on-premises to Azure cloud migration
• Implement Zero Trust access models, Azure Landing Zone baselines, and identity governance controls
• Build and fine-tune Microsoft Sentinel detection rules, automated response workflows, and Defender for Cloud configurations
• Assist the infrastructure team directly with practical operational security tasks, including Intune policies and endpoint hardening
• Remediate findings from external penetration tests, cloud security audits, and risk assessments
• Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and partner with external MDR providers when needed
• Develop operational automations and security workflows using modern AI developer tools

What You'll Bring

• 10 to 12 years of total experience across infrastructure and information security, with at least 5+ years of dedicated depth in the Microsoft cloud security ecosystem
• Proven hands-on implementation depth across Azure Security, Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365 Security, Defender, and Sentinel
• Solid background in core operating systems and infrastructure engineering prior to specializing in cloud security
• Track record of successfully securing active migration programs from legacy environments to Azure
• Practical experience applying modern AI tools to automate workflows and administrative processes
• Refined corporate poise, exceptional executive presence, and the professional polish required to interact with senior leadership
• Fluent Greek for Athens team collaboration and flawless English for cross-border operations and reporting

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes security
• Exposure to AI governance frameworks and LLM security concepts
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview and experience working with external MDR partners
• Relevant Microsoft security certifications
