Principal Enterprise Architect, Marousi, Hybrid (2-3)

Our client is a global software company operating in the renewable energy sector, delivering software platforms for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage operators across multiple international markets. The role exists to support the continued evolution and scaling of a complex, multi-region platform spanning multiple engineering teams and technologies.

The Role

You’ll contribute to architectural leadership across the platform while remaining hands-on with engineering delivery, including production code, prototypes, and proof-of-concept initiatives. You’ll help shape technical standards, architectural decision-making, and cross-functional engineering strategy across infrastructure, data, AI, and distributed systems domains.

Within your first six months, you’ll be expected to contribute to the platform architecture record, establish and refine architectural governance practices, support cross-team technical initiatives, and deliver hands-on technical contributions to high-impact platform projects.

What You’ll Bring

• 12+ years of experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
• Deep production experience across at least three of the following: Apache Kafka, Apache Cassandra, PostgreSQL at scale, Kubernetes (including AWS and GCP environments), columnar data platforms, gRPC architectures, and event-driven systems
• Working proficiency across multiple programming languages including Go, C#/.NET, Python, and TypeScript
• Demonstrable experience making and evaluating architectural decisions in production environments, including lessons learned from unsuccessful approaches
• Strong written communication skills with experience producing architecture decision records (ADRs), technical standards, and architectural documentation
• Hands-on engineering mindset with the ability to contribute directly to production code and technical delivery
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering and agentic coding workflows
• Strong verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills in English

Nice to Have

• Experience within the renewable energy or energy technology sector
• Public technical writing, conference speaking, or open-source contributions related to software architecture or distributed systems
• Experience participating in customer-facing technical and architectural discussions
