About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major Metro infrastructure project in Athens. This senior position requires deep technical expertise, strong managerial capabilities, and proven leadership in complex transportation projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, ensure contractual compliance, and guide the project toward successful delivery.

 

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a team of 30+ specialists across engineering and project control functions.

  • Review and assess contractor plans, schedules, methodologies, and technical strategies.

  • Oversee contract management, ensuring full compliance with Greek Public Works Law (Ν.4412/2016 & Ν.3669/2008).

  • Prepare and approve monthly engineering reports and documentation.

  • Drive continuous improvement, introducing best practices for Metro system execution.

  • Verify that all project records are accurate, organized, and properly archived.

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers for seamless system integration and commissioning.

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation actions to protect timelines.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

  • Address and resolve technical challenges in collaboration with engineering teams.

  • Monitor, supervise, and evaluate the performance of contractors and subcontractors.

What We Are Looking For

  • MSc Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineer with 15+ years of total experience and 5+ years in managerial roles within Metro projects.

  • Certified member of TCG (ΤΕΕ) or equivalent professional body (mandatory requirement).

  • Proven expertise in contract administration and public works legislation.

  • Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to manage complex, large-scale technical teams.
