Our client is a fast-growing fintech company based in Athens (with offices also in London and Cyprus), on a mission to make smart saving and investing accessible to everyone across Europe. Their internal engineering team supports a product used by over 2 million customers across 10 markets. The role is open due to continued team growth and an expanding product roadmap.

The Role

You'll be a core member of a cross-functional engineering team, owning backend systems end-to-end, from design and architecture through to deployment and monitoring. In your first six months, you'll embed into the team's development lifecycle, contribute to live product features, and start making an impact on both technical quality and product direction.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with strong backend fundamentals
  • Comfortable working across both strongly and dynamically typed languages (their stack is Kotlin/Spring Boot and Python/FastAPI)
  • Experience designing modular, scalable, testable systems with well-defined APIs
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across distributed systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly about complex technical and architectural challenges
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams alongside product and design

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with GCP, Kubernetes, or Terraform for cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g. RabbitMQ or similar)
  • Comfort with observability tooling such as Grafana, Datadog, or Sentry
  • Prior mentoring or technical leadership experience

What's in It for You
