Senior Data Engineer | Hybrid

Our client is an international fintech and online trading organisation with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, analytics, and AI innovation. The role exists as part of the continued growth of the Data Science and Business Intelligence team and the expansion of the company’s machine learning and analytics capabilities.

The Role

You’ll design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support machine learning workflows, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives across the organisation. Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders, you’ll help ensure high-quality, accessible data while contributing to production AI and ML solutions.

Within your first six months, you’ll be expected to contribute to scalable data pipeline improvements, support production ML deployments, and help optimise the company’s data warehousing and analytics infrastructure.

What You’ll Bring

  • MSc or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering and Python software development
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python libraries including Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn
  • Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
  • Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
  • Proven experience supporting machine learning workflows and AI-driven applications
  • Experience with big data processing and analytics platforms
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data-driven insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluency in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience building and maintaining enterprise-scale data warehouse solutions
  • Exposure to MLOps or production ML deployment practices
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to technical leadership initiatives

Monthly gross salary in the range of €3,000–€4,000, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus scheme. Hybrid working model (2 days from home, 3 days in-office in Athens or Cyprus).
