Our client is a technical construction and engineering organisation delivering large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects, including Data Center developments across multiple markets.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile Data Center project based in Spata, Greece. The successful candidate will take ownership of post-contract commercial activities, ensuring accurate financial control, robust contract administration, and effective management of variations and claims throughout the project lifecycle. The final designation for this role will be confirmed based on the outcome of the line interview assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage post-contract commercial activities across the full project lifecycle, including cost control, payment applications, and final account preparation.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim payment applications and valuations in line with contractual requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage variations, ensuring accurate valuation and timely resolution.
  • Lead claims management processes, including preparation, substantiation, and negotiation of claims and extension of time submissions.
  • Monitor project costs against budget, flagging risks and commercial exposures to project leadership.
  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve commercial and contractual matters.
  • Ensure compliance with the governing contract form (e.g. FIDIC, NEC) throughout project execution.
  • Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and financial documentation for internal and client reporting.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 12 years of overall experience in quantity surveying or commercial management within construction.
  • At least 2 years of experience on Data Center projects is mandatory.
  • Strong, demonstrable expertise in post-contract activities, particularly payment applications, variations, and claims management.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Solid working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. FIDIC, NEC).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in cost management and measurement software (e.g. CostX, Candy, or equivalent).

Nice to Have

  • MRICS / RICS Chartered status or working towards chartership.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Construction Economics, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience with hyperscaler or colocation data center clients, or tier-1 EPC contractors.
  • Familiarity with MEP-heavy cost structures and high-value technical equipment procurement (generators, UPS, cooling systems, switchgear).
