Software Developer

On behalf of our client, the largest systemic bank in Greece and a key player in the country’s financial ecosystem, we are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join its team of professionals in Athens.

A day in the life of a Software Developer
You will be joining a newly formed Systems Innovation team with a clear 3–5 year roadmap to modernize and migrate legacy platforms to contemporary, scalable architectures using cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain software in the Loan Origination area (mostly BPM systems)
• Develop and integrate applications using modern APIs and system architectures
• Monitor and support loan origination workflows (both in-house and vendor-supplied)Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate requirements into working solutions
• Participate in large-scale digital transformation initiatives
• Own the architecture and documentation of your systems
• Apply code reviews and promote clean, secure, and efficient code
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices

What you will need

• Strong hands-on experience with Java
• Solid understanding of BPM systems – ideally Appian or similar (e.g. Camunda, jBPM)
• Familiarity with low-code platforms and workflow automation
• Good knowledge of REST APIs, databases, and microservices architecture
• A mindset for clean code, collaboration, and continuous learning
