System Administrator - Athens, On-site

Our client is a large IT services company running critical infrastructure that the business and its clients depend on around the clock. The role exists to keep servers, networks and hardware performing reliably while maintaining the security and resilience that a large-scale IT environment demands.

The Role

You will monitor and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, troubleshoot issues before they become outages and make sure backups, recovery procedures and security protocols are always current and tested. In your first six months, you will develop a thorough understanding of the existing environment, address the most pressing vulnerabilities and put a proactive maintenance schedule in place that keeps surprises to a minimum. You will be the person the business calls when something needs to stay up or get back up fast.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of system administration experience in a large-scale IT environment
• Solid hands-on experience monitoring and maintaining servers, networks and hardware
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery planning
• Proven ability to implement and maintain security measures and protocols across IT infrastructure
• Methodical troubleshooting approach with the ability to resolve issues efficiently under pressure

Nice to Have

• Microsoft, Linux or equivalent system administration certification
• Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Background in IT services or managed services environments
