Technical Product Owner

About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead the end-to-end development of a next-generation Smart City Platform. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone who blends deep technical understanding with strong product leadership. You will oversee product vision, roadmap execution, and delivery, working closely with engineering teams, city stakeholders, and executive leadership to shape urban digital transformation.

This position requires someone who can confidently navigate software architecture while driving business outcomes through thoughtful product decisions.

Your Day-to-Day

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Smart City Platform.

• Gather and prioritize requirements from internal teams, municipal authorities, and industry partners.

• Translate business and market needs into detailed user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria.

• Manage and refine the product backlog, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

• Lead day-to-day collaboration with developers, QA engineers, architects, and UX/UI teams.

• Supervise and coordinate a 15-member engineering team, ensuring clear direction and strong execution.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Ensure that the platform meets high standards for security, scalability, resilience, and performance.

• Monitor product performance, extract insights, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to executives and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Hands-on experience or solid technical understanding of:

• .NET / .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET

• React, JavaScript, TypeScript

• RESTful APIs, backend services, microservices architectures

• SQL & NoSQL databases

• Cloud platforms (Azure strongly preferred; AWS acceptable)

• CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

• Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Large-scale platforms, IoT ecosystems, or Smart City solutions (big plus)

• Cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance considerations for urban data systems

• 5+ years in Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or related roles.

• Background in Software Engineering or Computer Science (preferred).

• Proven experience leading teams of 10+ developers.

• Solid track record building and delivering large-scale software products.

• Experienced in Agile / Scrum methodologies.
