Wireless Communications Engineer, Koropi Hybrid (4-1)
Electrical EngineerOur client is Greece's premier defense software house, NATO-registered, with active EU defense programs and a direct working relationship with the Hellenic Armed Forces. They build exclusively defense systems: tactical communication platforms designed ground-up to protect and synchronise forces in real-time. Not off-the-shelf products, software with genuine national and strategic significance.
As a Wireless Communication Engineer you will own the physical-layer engineering of these systems inside the Products Development Department. Your work sits at the intersection of algorithmic design, SDR hardware, and embedded implementation — and it ships to the field.
What You'll Do
- Translate operational requirements into baseband PHY specs and measurable KPIs.
- Design and prototype baseband algorithms — modulation, channel coding, synchronisation — from concept through design verification.
- Build simulation testbeds: wireless channel models, digital and RF impairment models, end-to-end link performance.
- Generate bit-accurate models and define implementation architectures for SoC and processor targets.
- Implement algorithms in C/C++ on embedded targets via structured MATLAB/Simulink-to-hardware workflows.
- Run lab bench verification and participate in field trials.
- Feed into System Architecture decisions — this is not a pure execution role.
What You Will Bring
Required:
- M.Sc. in Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering with solid grounding in digital wireless communications theory.
- Hands-on baseband modem algorithm design experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink.
- Practical knowledge of SDR architectures: RF-agile transceivers, SoC platforms.
- A working bit-accurate modelling methodology for baseband signal processing blocks.
- C/C++ on embedded systems.
Good to have:
- PHY/MAC layer R&D experience — algorithm development, link-level modelling, ADC/DAC and RF engineering.
- Model-Based Design with MathWorks toolchain, including HDL/C code generation.
- Xilinx Vivado HLS, VITIS, or SDK.
- Embedded debug tooling: JTAG emulators, logic analysers, oscilloscopes.
What's in It for You
€2,000 – €3,500 gross/month depending on experience, plus private health insurance from Day 1. You'll be based at the Koropi facility with corporate transport from metro stations and an on-site restaurant. The role is permanent — long-term continuity, not rolling contracts — with a hybrid working model (1 day wfh)
*The salary range above is indicative. Final offer depends on experience and performance. If the numbers are not matching your expectation, apply anyway - the range has room and the conversation is worth having.
