Software Development Manager - Athens, On-site

Our client is a global technology company delivering complex software solutions across a demanding and fast-moving project portfolio. The role exists to bring experienced engineering leadership to a development team that needs someone who can raise the standard of delivery while keeping people motivated and growing.

The Role

You will lead and mentor a team of developers through the full development lifecycle, owning quality, timelines and the day-to-day decisions that keep projects on track. In your first six months, you will get close to the team, the codebase and the stakeholders, establish clear development standards and put a project monitoring rhythm in place that gives everyone visibility on progress before problems become crises. You will be the person who makes the team better and the delivery more predictable.

What You'll Bring

• 6+ years of software development experience with at least 2 in a team lead or management role
• Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop software engineering teams in a delivery-focused environment
• Strong track record collaborating with stakeholders to define project goals and translate them into executable plans
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, code quality standards and delivery governance
• Calm, decisive leadership style that earns trust from both engineers and business stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with Agile or Scrum delivery frameworks at team or programme level
• Background in global or distributed engineering organisations
• Familiarity with modern cloud-native development environments
