Civil Infrastructure Engineer

On behalf of our client, a leader company that provides services for Smart Cities and IoT solutions delivering projects that improve urban life, protect the environment, and optimize energy use, we are currently looking for Civil Infrastructure Engineer, to join their Smart city solutions team in Athens, Greece.

The company partners with public organizations and municipalities to implement large-scale innovative urban infrastructure solutions, including smart lighting, e-mobility, smart pedestrian crossings and intelligent mobility solutions.

A day in the life of Civil Infrastructure Engineer

A Civil Infrastructure Engineer will join the Smart city solutions team, with a focus on smart pedestrian crossings and intelligent mobility solutions where the ideal candidate will bridge traditional civil engineering with modern smart technologies to create safer, efficient, and future-ready urban environments. Based in Athens, you will oversee civil works on Smart City projects ensuring high-quality execution, compliance with specifications, and smooth collaboration with contractors and supervisors.

Your day-to-day

• Conduct site mapping and ensure correct placement of infrastructure.
• Supervise groundwork, foundations, and base construction for smart pedestrian crossings and related installations.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, providing guidance to ensure structural compliance.
• Oversee contractors’ daily work, providing directives and ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Inspect materials, monitor progress, and document deviations or corrective measures.
• Communication and cooperation with contractors and public sector.

What you will need

• Degree in Civil Engineering (University or equivalent).
• Previous experience in infrastructure and public works projects (exposure to FTTH, utilities, or smart city projects is a plus).
• Availability to travel across Greece when projects are outside of Attica (all travel expenses covered).
