As part of their continued growth, they are looking for a Data Engineer to join their team in Athens. Whether you're at the beginning of your data engineering career or already have a few years of experience, this is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale data projects, collaborate with experienced consultants, and build modern data solutions for high-profile enterprise clients.

The Role

As a Data Engineer, you will play an active role in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that enable clients to transform complex data into valuable business insights.

Working alongside experienced Data Engineers, Architects, Business Analysts, and Project Managers, you'll participate in the full lifecycle of data projects, from data acquisition and modelling to analytics and reporting, while continuously expanding your technical expertise in modern data platforms and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources, including transactional systems, files, APIs, and external platforms
  • Extract, transform, and cleanse large datasets to ensure high levels of quality, consistency, and reliability
  • Build and optimize SQL queries, relational databases, and data models to support reporting and analytics
  • Collaborate with Data Architects to design efficient data models and warehouse solutions
  • Work closely with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into technical data solutions
  • Support the development of dashboards, reports, and visual analytics using modern BI tools
  • Contribute to data integration, ETL processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in technical discussions, solution design, testing, documentation, and production support

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline (postgraduate studies are considered a plus)
  • 1–4 years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a related technical role
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience with data modelling techniques
  • Good programming skills in Python, Java, C#, or another modern programming language
  • Experience working with at least one relational database such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SAP HANA
  • Familiarity with ETL and data integration tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, SAP BW, or similar
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools including Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both Greek and English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Snowflake
  • Exposure to modern data architectures and cloud-based analytics solutions
  • Understanding of Machine Learning and AI concepts
  • Experience working on enterprise-scale data projects
