Full-Stack Developer (Python/React)
Full Stack EngineerOur client is building a maritime insurance platform with a small, fast-moving team with startup DNA. The company is expanding from a single-purpose quoting tool into a comprehensive multi-service platform.
Their engineering culture is AI-native: every developer uses AI-assisted development tools daily as core productivity multipliers, not as novelty add-ons. This is a chance to join a team that is defining what effective engineering looks like in the AI era.
The Role
As a Full-Stack Developer, you will work across the full stack of a modern web application, contributing to both frontend and backend features within a Domain-Driven Design architecture. You will join a small team of engineers and collaborate closely with everyone - this is not a role where you work in isolation on one slice of the product.
What matters most is how you think, not what you already know. The team values engineers who can take an ambiguous problem, break it into small, well-defined steps, and methodically work through to a solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship features across React (frontend) and FastAPI/Python (backend)
- Develop within a monorepo architecture organized by business domains (quotes, users, vessels, policies)
- Collaborate with the UI/UX engineer to implement designs from Figma with pixel-level attention
- Write tests as an integral part of development rather than an afterthought
- Participate in the full development lifecycle (planning, implementation, code review, CI/CD, and deployment)
- Integrate AI development tools, such as Claude Code, into daily workflows to accelerate delivery
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape key technical decisions
- Monitor deployed features and support ongoing improvements to product quality and performance
What You'll Bring
- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with React (or Angular) and TypeScript, including component composition, state management, and rendering lifecycle
- Proficiency in Python or a similar backend language, with a solid understanding of APIs, data models, and request flow
- Solid SQL fundamentals, including writing queries and reasoning about relational data models
- Working knowledge of software design principles (SOLID, separation of concerns, DRY)
- Experience writing unit and integration tests, with an understanding of TDD as a design tool
- Comfort with Git, branching strategies, and code review workflows
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- A problem-decomposition mindset and genuine enthusiasm for adopting AI tools into your daily workflow
Nice to Have
- Domain-Driven Design concepts (bounded contexts, aggregates, layered architecture)
- TanStack ecosystem (Router, Query, Form) or similar modern React tooling
- FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, or async Python
- Tailwind CSS and utility-first styling approaches
- Nx monorepos or similar build orchestration tools
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Docker, cloud deployments)
- AWS services (even basic: S3, CloudFront, RDS)
- Design tokens and component library architecture
- Storybook for component development
- Maritime or insurance domain interest or experience
What's in It for You
€3000 – €4500 Gross / Month with B2B contract (12 salaries), depending on experience, along with a flexible hybrid work model 2-3 (2 days in the office, Athens).
You'll get modern equipment and AI tooling subscriptions fully covered: including Claude Code, Figma, and JIRA, plus direct access to technical leadership in a flat, no-silo team structure.
This is a rare chance to make real impact: your code ships to production and is used by real maritime professionals, on a modern engineering stack with no legacy baggage. As the platform and team scale, there is a clear path to grow into a senior role.
