Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineer)
Civil EngineerOn behalf of our client, a well-established company in the local and EU constructions area, we are currently looking for a self-driven Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineer), to join their construction team based in Athens or Thessaloniki.
A day in the life of a ‘Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineer)’
- The management and supervision of large building projects of the group. Mainly in Building Private projects
- Responsible for coordinating and managing the team working on the project. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring work progress, and encouraging teamwork
- Responsible for organizing and supervising construction. This includes coordinating all activities on site and ensuring that the project proceeds according to specifications, on schedule and within budget
- Responsibility to ensure safety practices are followed at the site. This includes training workers on safety issues and keeping the site in good condition to avoid accidents
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to provide materials, equipment and skilled labor
- Responsibility of maintaining continuous and effective communication with assigned clients. Providing regular updates on project progress, managing expectations and responding to any concerns or requests
- Dealing with any challenges or problems that arise during construction.
- Reporting to the Technical Director, maintaining cooperative and effective relations with the Company's Departments (Procurement, Accounting, etc.)
Qualifications
- Leadership Skills: The ability to lead, inspire and motivate the team to achieve common goals
- Management Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and manage teams, projects’ budget, safety issues, quality etc.
- Decision-Making Ability: To be able to make decisions quickly and efficiently, especially in cases where urgent solutions are required
- Problem Solving Skills: Be able to identify and solve problems that arise during construction
- Persistence and Managing Difficulties: Persistence in achieving goals, even when obstacles and difficulties arise
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Adapt to changes and unforeseen situations with composure and efficiency
- Communication skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with suppliers, teams, customers and other departments of the company
- Familiarity with Administrative Structures: Must know and be familiar with the procedures and administrative structures of large technical companies
- Knowledge of Legislation and Regulations: Knowledge of the legislation and regulations governing construction projects. Perception and understanding of the legal terms of project contracts
In addition
- University Degree in Civil Engineering
- Fluency in English
- Ability to travel according to the projects’ needs
Work Experience
- At least 15 years of experience in the Construction Industry of which at least 5 years in Project Management positions
- Experience on at least 1 construction/building project with a budget of more than 5 million
