Senior Systems Engineer

On behalf of a leading international energy company, we are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their Group IT team in Athens. This is a hands-on, senior infrastructure role where you'll own the stability, security, and performance of a complex, multi-site enterprise environment.

Your Day-to-Day

You will be the highest technical escalation point for infrastructure incidents across a globally distributed environment. Your focus will span availability of core services (compute, storage, network, identity), managing virtualization platforms, identity services, backup and recovery, and WAN/LAN connectivity. You'll lead DR testing, drive security hardening, execute patching and lifecycle management, and push automation and operational improvements — all while keeping thorough documentation and supporting junior team members.

What You Will Bring

• 5+ years in enterprise infrastructure, systems or network engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with LAN/WAN, VPN, routing and switching
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365
• Solid VMware and/or Hyper-V experience in production environments
• Exposure to Azure or other cloud-integrated environments
• Professional English written and verbal; willingness to travel internationally (3-4 times a year)
