Systems Engineer

Our client is an established software and systems integration company delivering large-scale IT projects to public and private sector organisations across Greece. With several new contracts underway, they need a Systems Engineer to help build and support the environments these projects run on.

The Role

As Systems Engineer, you will deploy and support server infrastructure, monitor system performance and keep project environments stable, secure and well documented.

Working alongside developers and project managers, you will turn their requirements into working infrastructure. Within your first six months you will be supporting live client systems on your own and contributing to the rollout of at least one new project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Windows and Linux servers for new and existing client projects
• Build and maintain virtual machines on VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
• Monitor performance and availability with tools such as Zabbix, PRTG or Nagios, and resolve issues as they arise
• Turn requirements from developers and project managers into working infrastructure
• Keep project environments patched, secure and stable
• Write and maintain clear technical documentation for every environment you support

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, System Administrator or in a similar role
• Good working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments
• Experience with virtualisation (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V) and basic networking concepts
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, PRTG or Nagios
• Willingness to learn, take ownership and write clear technical documentation

Nice to Have

• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash
• Experience with public sector or large integration projects
• Microsoft, Red Hat or VMware certifications

What's in It for You

The position is fully on-site in Thessaloniki. You would gain hands-on experience on large-scale projects, with a clear path towards senior engineering roles.
