On behalf of our client, a leader company that provides services for Smart Cities and IoT solutions delivering projects that improve urban life, protect the environment, and optimize energy use, we are currently looking for Field Civil Engineers, to join their team in Athens, Greece.

The company partners with public organizations and municipalities to implement large-scale infrastructure solutions, including smart lighting, e-mobility, waste and water management, safety systems, and e-governance platforms. Current flagship projects involve the installation of smart poles with lighting and photovoltaic systems in areas across Greece that lack street lighting.

A day in the life of Field Civil Engineer

A Field Civil Engineer will join the project supervision team, with a focus on infrastructure and field implementation. Based in Athens, you will oversee civil works on Smart City projects mostly across South Greece, ensuring high-quality execution, compliance with specifications, and smooth collaboration with contractors and supervisors.

Your day-to-day

• Conduct site mapping and ensure correct placement of infrastructure.
• Supervise groundwork, foundations, and base construction for smart poles and related installations.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, providing guidance to ensure structural compliance.
• Oversee contractors’ daily work, providing directives and ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Inspect materials, monitor progress, and document deviations or corrective measures.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for the supervisor and project stakeholders.

What you will need

• Degree in Civil Engineering (University or equivalent).
• Relevant professional certifications for civil works.
• Previous experience in infrastructure or public works projects (exposure to energy, utilities, or smart city projects is a plus).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Availability to travel across South Greece (all travel expenses covered).
