Within your first six months, you’ll be expected to contribute to the reliability and performance of real-time control flows, enhance integration capabilities with external operators and grid systems, and deliver improvements to operational tooling and monitoring across the energy management platform.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years of experience designing and operating production backend systems
- 3+ years of recent hands-on production experience with Go
- Strong experience building real-time, latency-sensitive, message-driven systems in sectors such as energy, industrial control, telecommunications, or financial trading
- Fluency with Apache Kafka, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers
- Practical experience contributing to React codebases for operational or customer-facing tooling
- Strong Kubernetes proficiency in production environments
- Fluency with AI-assisted engineering and agentic coding workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of power-system operations, electricity markets, and ancillary services
- Familiarity with battery energy storage systems and operational asset management
- Exposure to industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850, Modbus, or IEEE 1547
What’s in it for You
The role offers a salary commensurate with experience (€5000 - €6500) and the opportunity to work on real-time renewable energy and storage optimisation systems at global scale. It follows a hybrid working arrangement, with two days onsite and three days remote each week in Athens. Additional benefits include a monthly meal allowance, private health insurance, and an annual performance bonus.
