Golang DeveloperOur client is a global software company operating in the renewable energy sector, delivering a platform that supports utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage operators with monitoring, analytics, and energy management capabilities. The role exists due to continued platform growth and the increasing scale and complexity of the company’s core data infrastructure services.
The Role
You’ll contribute to the design and evolution of the platform services that power high-volume time-series ingestion, storage, downsampling, and outbound data export across the company’s core platform. You’ll work on highly scalable backend systems in Go, while also contributing to internal operational tooling used to monitor and optimise production services.
Within your first six months, you’ll be expected to contribute to the optimisation and reliability of core data pipelines, improve observability across distributed services, and deliver enhancements to internal tooling that supports runtime visibility and operational safety in production environments.
What You’ll Bring
- 8+ years of experience designing and operating production backend systems
- 4+ years of recent hands-on experience with Go in high-scale production environments
- Deep operational experience with Apache Cassandra and Apache Kafka at high partition counts
- Strong experience with gRPC and Protocol Buffers
- Experience working with columnar storage formats such as Apache Parquet
- Practical experience contributing to React-based internal tooling
- Strong observability practices using Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and structured logging
- Proficiency with Kubernetes in production environments
- Fluency with AI-assisted engineering and agentic coding workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Experience operating large-scale time-series databases
- Cost engineering experience across AWS and/or GCP environments, including services such as EKS, GKE, and S3
- Experience building and operating outbound data export integrations with customer systems
