Senior Data & AI Engineer, Athens , Hybrid Flexible model

Our client is a leading European consultancy specializing in data, AI, and cloud-based solutions, seeking a Senior Data & AI Engineer to join their growing team in Athens. The company delivers end-to-end data transformation projects for enterprise clients, combining advanced analytics, machine learning, and cloud engineering to enable data-driven decision-making.

You’ll join as a Senior Data & AI Engineer, contributing to the design and delivery of advanced data-driven solutions for enterprise clients.

Your work will span across data engineering, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and AI/ML applications, depending on project needs. You’ll be involved in building scalable data pipelines, enabling machine learning use cases, and supporting the development of generative AI-driven solutions.

In your first six months, you’ll get exposure to ongoing client projects, support solution design and implementation, and contribute to building robust data platforms in cloud environments. You’ll also collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and present insights and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Occasional travel to Switzerland and other international locations will be required to engage with clients and collaborate with the headquarters team in Zurich.

• University degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related AI/data roles
• Strong hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, dbt, or Palantir Foundry
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark
• Solid understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts
• Experience working across cloud-based data ecosystems
• Strong communication skills in English
• A pragmatic, results-driven, and hands-on mindset

• Exposure to machine learning or generative AI applications
• Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery roles
• Familiarity with additional cloud platforms or orchestration tools
• Experience working in international, multi-stakeholder environments

Monthly gross salary of €3,000 – €4,000, hybrid and flexible working model, private health insurance, state-of-the-art hardware provided, and a structured learning and development programme including certifications.
