Our client is a leading European consultancy specialising in data, AI, and cloud-based solutions, delivering end-to-end transformation projects for enterprise clients across multiple industries. Based in Athens, the company focuses on building scalable data platforms, advanced analytics solutions, and AI-driven applications using modern cloud technologies. The Databricks Engineer role is open due to continued growth in data platform and Databricks-based delivery projects across European clients.

The Role

You’ll join as a Databricks Engineer, contributing to the design, development, and optimisation of large-scale data platforms built on modern cloud and lakehouse architectures.

Your focus will be on building and maintaining high-performance data pipelines and analytics solutions using Databricks and the Spark ecosystem, supporting both operational and advanced analytics use cases, including generative AI initiatives.

In your first six months, you’ll get involved in active client projects, helping design and implement Databricks-based solutions, optimise data workflows, and support scalable data processing environments. You’ll also collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical implementations and present insights and solutions in a clear and structured way.

Occasional travel to Switzerland and other international locations will be required to collaborate with clients and the consulting teams based in Zurich.

What You'll Bring

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and the Apache Spark ecosystem
  • Experience with Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, MLflow, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows
  • Proven experience working with large-scale datasets, streaming data, and database systems
  • Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, or Scala
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Strong understanding of distributed data processing concepts
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A pragmatic, results-driven, and hands-on mindset

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to machine learning or generative AI workloads on Databricks
  • Experience in consulting or client-facing delivery environments
  • Familiarity with data governance and data cataloguing concepts
  • Experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
