Senior IT Systems Engineer - Onsite

Our client is a prominent Greek circular-economy and recycling group operating in waste management, hazardous waste, and biomass. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Athens, the group manages multi-site environmental operations and industrial infrastructures across several countries.

The Role

You will take full operational and strategic ownership of the entire group’s IT infrastructure. This is an autonomous, one-person IT function granting you independent decision-making authority and the freedom to manage the technology ecosystem your way. Initially, you will operate independently, with the clear roadmap to hire and mentor a junior assistant after your first year as business needs expand.

Reporting directly to senior leadership with a high level of confidentiality, you will own end-to-end IT for the group, ensuring operational stability, data security, and disaster recovery across multiple companies and sites. Within your first six months, you will take full ownership of the core infrastructure (networks, security, email, user profiles, CCTV, WiFi), oversee the IT budget, and bring external providers and overseas operations under your direct control.

What You’ll Bring

• 4+ years of hands-on system administration experience in a multi-site or SME environment.
• Core Infrastructure: Direct control over Active Directory, GPOs, and Microsoft 365 tenants/emails across multiple providers.
• Security & Continuity: Experience managing firewalls, DLP, endpoint protection, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Web & Network Admin: Management of domains, DNS, and SSL certificates (Papaki, GoDaddy, Tophost).
• Service & Vendor Management: Ability to organize ticketing workflows using automation/vendors, handle IT budgeting, and manage confidential data.
• Language & Education: Native Greek, good English, and a University / TEI degree (vocational/IEK is not sufficient).

Nice to Have

• MSP background or experience managing external IT providers.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL-based processes.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / M365 Administrator.
• CompTIA Security+, Network+, or ITIL Foundation certifications.
