Data Engineer - Athens, Hybrid (3-2)
Other/EngineeringOur client is a fast-growing data solutions provider building the infrastructure that powers data-driven decision-making across their organisation. The role exists to bring strong data engineering capability to a team that moves quickly and expects the data it depends on to be reliable, accessible and ready to use.
The Role
You will design, build and maintain robust data pipelines, working closely with data scientists and analysts to make sure data flows cleanly from source to insight without interruption. In your first six months, you will map the existing pipeline architecture, identify the most critical quality and performance gaps and deliver at least one meaningful improvement to how data moves through the system. You will be the person who makes sure the data is there when the business needs it.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience building and maintaining production data pipelines
- Solid experience working with large datasets and optimising data flow and collection processes
- Strong understanding of data quality monitoring and best practices for data reliability
- Experience collaborating directly with data scientists and analysts to understand and serve their data needs
- Proactive approach to identifying and recommending improvements to data systems
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, dbt or Airflow
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Background in real-time or streaming data architectures
What's in it for You
